We believe the church is a people, not a place.
Because we believe the church is a people, not a place, you’ll rarely hear us call this new building “the church.” We’re the church; this is just a building, a facility, a location.
But make no mistake, we believe God has big plans for this new space. Our vision is that this building becomes way more than a Sunday morning worship location, but instead functions like a coffee shop, library, community center, or co-working space. To that end, we’re designing this space as much with Tuesday afternoon in mind as Sunday morning. Once our doors are open to the public, this space is truly OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. This means that during business hours (M-F, 9-3), our building will always be available for you, complete with free coffee/water, free wifi, a public restroom, and a quiet, clean, air conditioned space to work from. So whether you’re a graphic designer working from a laptop, a college student studying for finals, or just waiting on your dog to finish up next door at the groomers, you’re always welcome in our building and in our church.
In addition, our building will also be available to businesses, nonprofits, study groups, or other groups who need a flexible and affordable meeting space. Our only guideline for usage is that the building can’t be used for any purpose our elders deem counterintuitive to our church’s mission and doctrine. (For example, we can’t allow our building to be used for political candidates or causes.)
During regular business hours, usage of our space is free; we simply ask you go through our online reservation process to make sure the space is available. If you need the building after hours or on weekends, we’ll respectfully ask for a small donation ($50-$100) to offset utility costs and sending someone to lock/unlock the building.
